Blog Carousel Theme: Love

This month’s photo blog carousel theme is LOVE or PASSION. And since August is National Breastfeeding Awareness Month, I couldn’t think of a better way to depict love right now, than by photographing the love only a mother can give! These are a few from a breastfeeding project I’m working on for Grace Hill WIC, an organization that is trying to encourage more breastfeeding in the communities it serves, with images that show what a beautiful, natural, and loving thing it is to do for your child. As a maternity and baby photographer, the project is a perfect fit for me. Don’t forget to take a spin on the carousel, and see how some very talented photographers in the U.S., Canada, and Australia chose to visually interpret love or passion. After my photos, next up on the carousel is>>>>>  Hudson Valley Photographer Dawn Sela. You don’t want to miss it!

Vintage-Inspired Gifts | St. Louis Product Photography

Looking for a gift? I dare you to go gift shopping at my favorite local shop, The White Rabbit, without finding lots of goodies for yourself too. It seems that everytime  I’m there, at least one of the items that calls my name is made by Knollwood Lane. Susan Medart, the creator of Knollwood Lane, adorns everyday useful items with the most fun vintage graphics! I recently got to photograph her items for her new website that will be completely revamped! It hasn’t launched yet, but I’ll be sure to let you know when it does! In the meantime, here are some of her wares:

Feeding time.

Earlier this summer, while visiting family, there was another family hanging out at the same place. They were great guests. Hardly noticed they were there at all. But once I did, I found them fascinating to watch. And being a family photographer, I decided to get my camera out to capture their activities before they left. You hear family & child photographers talking all the time about the importance of portraits, and not waiting to capturing those little ones because the moments are fleeting and you can never get them back. Such was the case with this family too. A day or so after I shot this, the babies had flown the coop.

Growing a family… St. Louis Maternity Photographer

I’ve probably said it before, but one of my very favorite things to photograph is pregnancy. I think it’s because family is so important to me, and so to see that family created is incredibly special. A small peek into a maternity portrait session here in St. Louis:
